Chief Executive Officer
YWCA Evansville seeks an experienced, visionary, and mission-driven leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. The CEO serves as the chief strategist and spokesperson for the organization, providing leadership to advance the mission, strengthen community partnerships, ensure financial sustainability, and oversee high-quality programs and services.
For more than 115 years, YWCA Evansville has been a trusted community resource dedicated to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Through programs including domestic violence services, emergency shelter, substance use recovery housing, youth development, and supportive services, YWCA Evansville serves hundreds of individuals and families annually throughout Southwest Indiana.
Compensation and Benefits
YWCA Evansville offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision insurance, pension plan, 403(b) retirement plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and vision for the organization.
Partner with the Board of Directors to establish organizational priorities and goals.
Ensure sound financial management, fiscal accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant development, and community engagement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, governmental agencies, funders, and stakeholders.
Oversee program operations to ensure excellence, compliance, and measurable impact.
Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing staff team.
Serve as the public face and chief advocate of the organization.
Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
Demonstrated executive leadership experience in a nonprofit, public sector, human services, healthcare, education, or related organization.
Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
Successful fundraising, grant management, and resource development experience.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
Experience leading and developing teams.
Knowledge of governance and effective partnership with a Board of Directors.
Experience/ knowledge of homeless issues, domestic violence, addiction, client advocacy, community resources and other high-risk populations desired.
Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and advancing opportunities for individuals and families.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Full-Time Quality Coordinator in Domestic Violence Shelter
(Weekday - Nights)
40 hours/week
YWCA Evansville is seeking applicants for a full-time, overnight shelter quality coordinator to work Tuesday through Saturday midnight to 8 a.m. This is the typical shift, but subject to change as needs arise. Quality coordinator provides services to residential clients and ensures data and client services are properly documented by auditing client files as well as gathering and entering any missing data. Strong computer skills are required, including experience with Excel. Ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills in order to handle nightly crisis calls, determine if callers are appropriate for our shelter, address any needs that arise overnight, and ensure facility safety. Previous social work background is desired. The shift duties also include maintaining inventory of food, hygiene items, etc.; restocking said items; and notifying appropriate point person of items that need to be ordered.
Ideal candidate will be a dependable, self-starter, team player, flexible, dependable, and possess an eagerness to learn more about social services. Ideal candidate will also exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills, and attention to detail. This position will work with diverse populations and interact with clients and staff in a sensitive, non-judgmental open-minded manner. Shelter quality coordinator will be cross-trained to assist in all housing programs.

· Assists director of operations with any data entry issues;
· Compiles and maintains intake; exit; job readiness; and self-sufficiency folders;
· Enters client information in database systems including crisis calls;
· Conducts audits on files for housing programs.
· Take crisis calls;
· Provides orientation and intake services for women and children entering housing;
· Provides services to all clients as needed;
· Completes daily floor/room check and, where warranted, completes Repair Reports;
· Provides services to all clients as needed, including referrals to other shelters, medication assistance and transportation assistance;
· Confers regularly with supervisor;
· Attends a minimum of 10 hours of professional development conferences and workshops as recommended by supervisor;
· Coordinates client security and emergency response and follows emergency procedures;
· Maintains confidentiality;
· Demonstrates initiative and responsibility;
· Assisting with front desk duties as needed;
Qualifications
Social work or business degree /certification preferred; experience in a social service field; communication skills, organizational skills, ability to coordinate tasks with full time and part time staff. Full-Time Family Advocate in Domestic Violence Shelter
(Weekdays - Second Shift)
40 hours/week
YWCA Evansville is seeking a second-shift (4 p.m. to midnight) family advocate for its domestic violence shelter who has experience working with individuals in crisis and case management skills. Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, dependable, team player, flexible, and possess a working knowledge of local agency resources. Ideal candidate will also exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to facilitate educational classes. Ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills in order to handle crisis calls, determine if callers are appropriate for our shelter, and address any needs that arise with shelter residents during the shift. Previous social work background is desired. Candidate must have computer skills as the position requires entering case notes, online referrals and searches, email use, etc. This position will work with vulnerable populations and interact with clients and staff in a sensitive, non-judgmental open-minded manner.
Candidate must be highly dependable and possess a strong work ethic.
Please note that this is a full-time position working the hours of 4 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday.
STARTING SALARY $39,520/year - $43,680/year.

Recovery Assistant in YES! Program
(Part-Time Weekend Nights)
24 hours/week
YWCA Evansville is seeking applicants for a part-time, weekend recovery assistant to work overnight from Midnight to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday night/Sunday morning, Sunday night/Monday morning and Monday night/Tuesday Morning. Position provides a drug-free and safe environment and assists YES! program clients with their daily needs. Assistant will be cross-trained to assist in all housing programs.
Experience in a social service field is preferred. Top candidates will possess strong computer skills, including Excel.
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, team player, flexible, dependable and possess a working knowledge of local agency resources. This position will work with diverse populations and interact with clients and staff in a sensitive, non-judgmental open-minded manner.
For those part-time employees wishing to take on additional hours, there are opportunities to fill in as a substitute on other shifts when needed.
STARTING SALARY $16/hour plus $2/hour overnight shift differential

YWCA offers part-time employees an employer-sponsored pension plan and paid time off including personal days, mental health days and birthday. Part-time employees may also contribute to an optional 403(b) retirement plan.
Responsibilities
· Staff must be alert and awake on their entire shift;
· Staff will answer crisis line and fill out a Crisis Call sheet for each call;
· Staff will meet with clients and their children as they enter housing program, complete appropriate intakes, and provide housing orientation and entry services;
· Staff will be respectful and sensitive to client needs and will maintain client confidentiality;
· Staff will enter housing program client services into appropriate database;
· Staff will perform building security checks at assigned times.
· Staff will assist with front desk duties as needed;
· Staff must attend a minimum of 10 hours per year of professional development conferences and workshops as recommended and approved by supervisor;
· Staff are required to attend staff meetings and to keep their CPR/AED/BBP/First Aid certification current;
· Staff will respond to needs of housing clients in case of emergency;
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; experience in social service field preferred; must possess good communications skills and be dependable; emotional maturity and ability to interact with others in a sensitive, open-minded manner is essential to this role.
