YWCA Evansville

What We Do

The YWCA of Evansville was founded in 1911 to improve the lives of women and girls.  Over 100 years later, the YWCA is still going strong and improving lives through powerful programming and community partnerships. We deliver life-changing social services for women and children from all walks of life, helping them come into their own through three stages of empowerment:  Safety, Opportunity, and Independence.  Our programs span three key service areas:

• Domestic Violence Shelter and support services for women and children
• Transitional Housing for homeless women in recovery from substance abuse
• Live Y’ers outreach and mentoring program for at-risk girls in grades 3-12
